Leap
Beyond Therapy, LLC, is a brand new company started by two parents of children
with cerebral palsy to offer hope, motivation, and physical fitness so
that children with special needs can become active participants in their
world. Services are provided by physical therapists and certified
instructors and include the first intensive Therasuit therapy center open
to the public in the Tristate area, personalized fitness programs, and
group yoga and karate classes. The fun new twist at Leap Beyond Therapy
is that they plan for the environment to be fun and
accommodating to the entire family. The motto is: ‘Building strength
and flexibility should be more fun; like a day at the park!’ The
hope is that siblings will participate, as well as friends and neighbors
of the special needs children. It is about movement, exercise, and being
part of a community.
The intention of Leap Beyond Therapy is the following:
- To complement
their existing physical therapy with an active lifestyle that could make
more/faster progress possible
- To work on
therapy goals in a functional, community setting, and encourage lifelong
interest and participation in sports/fitness
- To provide
kids more opportunities to be motivated by their siblings and peers
The Beech
Acres Park RecPlex is the ideal location for this innovative pediatric fitness
center as the All-Children's
Playground at Beech Acres Park is currently in development.
