The
playground, which has seen a lot of use, was in desperate need of a total face
lift, so the ATPD partnered once again with the Kiwanis Club of Anderson Hills
to incorporate $49,000 of renovations. The
fundraising was a three year effort to create
a unique and innovative play space, accessible to children of varying abilities.

Hike/Bike Trail The trail also features 5 Parcourse FitCircuit stations, including knee lift, chin-up, sit-up, push-up, and bench dip. Thanks to Eagle Scout, John Kammerer, from Troop #445 for raising over $4000 and installing the Parcourse FitCircuit equipment. Basketball Court
The outdoor Basketball Court at Veterans Park is located towards the back of the park. The glass backboards are a new feature for the park; Veterans Park’s basketball court is one of the Park District’s best kept secrets.

Shelter #1

The shelter is located towards the front of Veterans Park, near the playground. The shelter is equipped with electrical outlets, a grill, and seats 100 people.
Shelter #2

This smaller shelter is located at the back of Veterans Park, near the fire ring. The fire ring is available by permit only and is included with the rental of the small shelter. The fire ring provides a fun "camp site" atmosphere, terrific for scout groups and get-togethers. The shelter is equipped with electrical outlets, a grill, and seats 30 people.

Concession/Restroom Building
Veterans Park houses a building which offers restrooms and vending machines. It is building is located near the front of the Park, close to the large shelter and the playground.
