2011 Honoree: Bill Parchman
To leave the world a better place was a pure example of William (Bill) Parchman, founder of Parchman & Oyler Realtors and sponsor of P & O Grid Kids. More than 20,000 youngsters participated in the Grid Kid Program. Bill’s motto was “no boy will be cut from a team, and every boy that has a desire to play will play.”
An avid golfer and a University of Cincinnati lover, Bill was also the President of the Coldstream Country Club, President of the UC Alumuni Assocation, Chairman of the UC Foundation, a charter member of the UC Black Blazer Society, and organized the Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter in Cincinnati.
Besides his family, his greatest joy was his Kiata Farm. He raised registered Black Angus cattle that won many awards throughout the state and country.
Bill was an extremely caring person and was always out to help others, whether by lending them a smile or a hand. He cared about each person he encountered as if they meant the world to him in that moment. Bill gave those he helped individual attention, ignoring the fact that the rest of the world was moving forward without him. He grew up in Winton Place and moved to Anderson Township in 1976 when he married Yvonne Morr. He loved his family above all else, and while his grandchildren hated his sloppy kisses when they were younger, they now long for them and his loving smile. William Parchman passed away in 2003, but he is still dearly missed by many friends and his family.
