2009 Honoree: Darrin Huston
Darrin was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer Easter of 2006. He never smoked! His family prayed for an Easter Miracle. God had other plans. As Darrin accepted that he would die, his big concern was that he would not see some family and friends in Heaven. He felt that so many of us spend too much time worrying and not enough time trusting God. He was an amazing inspiration to all who knew him.

Darrin went to Akron University for Electrical Engineering then married his high school sweetheart, Wendy. They had two beautiful kids, Matthew and Kylie. Darrin accomplished more in his short career than most do in a full lifetime. One of his most notable accomplishments was, ironically, working on a cancer cure for which Light Sciences, Inc. is currently seeking FDA approval.

Darrin lived life to its fullest and embraced death courageously. He died May 19th, 2006 and is missed terribly by his wife, children, parents, grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles and friends.
