2009 Honorees: David & Millie Pavlik
David Pavlik attended preschool in Anderson and went to Sherwood Elementary School. He attended Anderson Junior School, and then he went on to St. Xavier High School, graduating in 1985. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1990.
Growing up, Dave’s main interest was baseball. Not only was he a Cincinnati Reds fan, but he loved playing District 5 Knothole ball. One of his favorite fields was at Beech Acres Park, when the field was close to the street, and home plate was in front of a huge tree. His family spent many summer days watching Dave and his two brothers play baseball all over Anderson Township. Dave also played third base for St. Xavier High School for four years.
After graduation from MSU, Dave moved to Naples, Florida, married his wife, Melissa, and became the proud dad of Millie in 1997. Dave was a very successful real estate agent in Naples. Millie used to visit Cincinnati every summer, and Juilfs Park was her favorite place to play.
Dave, Melissa and Millie led a very charmed and happy life, until one sad day in June, 2003, when a driver ran a red light and broadsided their car. Dave and Millie were killed instantly, just three weeks after Millie’s 6th birthday and two weeks after she finished kindergarten. The void that Dave and Millie have left is still heartbreaking.
