2010 Honoree: George Hayward
George Joel Hayward, loving husband, father, grandfather, and Anderson Township business owner, passed away May 1, 2009. His sense of humor, personal drive and determination, along with great pride in his country and community endeared him with people both far and wide.

George graduated from Withrow High School in 1959, and then went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Navy.

George (“Rox”) and his wife Ramona (“Mo”) enjoyed entertaining friends and family at their home. He enjoyed sharing his home theatre and music, as well as tending to the upkeep of his outdoor landscaping. Together, they enjoyed traveling domestically and abroad. Some of their favorite travel destinations included Lake Tahoe, southern California, Anna Maria Island, Florida and many European countries.

Professionally, George started his own business, United Sales Associates in 1981. Under his leadership, the company grew dramatically both personnel-wise and geographically. His sons, Todd and Tom now run the business.

Cancer may have taken George away, but our many memories of the man we knew as George, Rox, Dad, and Papa will live in our minds forever.
