There’s a photo of a woman poised atop a rock, her silhouette outlining her muscular figure, her chin pointing high and her arms curling in a position that conveys strength. The woman is Nancy Horn and the photo was taken before her 14-month battle with brain cancer, which cut short her life in 2003. She was both a devoted wife and mother, who inspired many people with her courage and positive attitude.![]() |

Run to Remember 5K Run/Walk began with Nancy's family and friends as a tribute to her exceptional view on physical fitness, her fortitude, and her enthusiastic approach to life. The atmosphere of the event is one of celebration and involves a 5K run/walk, followed by an outdoor after-party with a live band, food, and beverages.
Nancy was a devoted wife and mother, and her family and friends felt that donating the event proceeds to the Anderson Foundation for Parks and Recreation was the perfect way to honor her memory.
The first Run to Remember was such a success that the Horn family wanted to share this event, and invited others to nominate a loved one to be a Run to Remember honoree. Today, the event has expanded to celebrate the lives of almost three dozen individuals:
