Congratulations &
Thank You!

Anderson Township Park District and the families and friends of the 2013 honorees would like to thank you for participating in the 10th Annual Run to Remember 5K. Your support of the event is very much appreciated and we look forward to seeing you back here next year!

Thank You, Volunteers!
ATPD wishes to sincerely thank those who volunteered their time handing out flyers, to who served on committees, cheerfully greeted participants or hundreds of cups of water, assisted in the set-up and tear-down of the event and so on. There are so many volunteers to name them all, but know we're grateful for your donation of time and sometimes physical labor to make the event a special experience for all.

What is the Run to Remember?
The event celebrates and remembers the lives of individuals (also known as "Honorees") and includes a 5K, an after-party with live music, and a special sky lantern conclusion.

  • It's a 5K Run/Walk
  • It's for a good cause
  • It's a tribute
  • It's a celebration

It’s not just a race... It’s also a way to remember family and friends!
Run to Remember began with the family and friends of Nancy Horn — a loving wife and mother —as a tribute to her exceptional view on physical fitness after she lost her battle with brain cancer in 2003. The first year was such a success, the Horn family invited others to nominate a loved one to be a Run to Remember honoree. Today, the event has expanded to celebrate the lives of almost three dozen individuals.

It’s not just a race... It’s also for a good cause!
The legacy of the Run to Remember honorees lives on through the Anderson Foundation for Parks and Recreation Playground Fund. During its nine-year existence, Run to Remember has raised more than $62,500. These funds helped to complete the Beech Acres Park All-Children’s Playground, the Laverty Park Playground, and future proceeds will benefit other Park District playgrounds, including Juilfs Park.

There will always be a need to enhance the playgrounds in the Anderson Township Park District’s parks, just as there will always be children in the Anderson Township community in need of fun and safe places to play!
