Nominate a loved one
We are currently accepting new 2012 Run to Remember 5K honoree nominations. Honor the life of a significant loved one, and create a legacy in their memory through fundraising for the Anderson Foundation for Parks & Recreation Playground Fund. The atmosphere of Run to Remember is one of celebration and involves a 5K run/walk, followed by an outdoor after-party with a free concert.

- It's a 5K Run/Walk
- It's for a good cause
- It's a tribute
- It's a celebration
It’s not just a race... It’s also a way to remember family and friends!
Run to Remember began with the family and friends of Nancy Horn — a loving wife and mother —as a tribute to her exceptional view on physical fitness after she lost her battle with brain cancer in 2003. The first year was such a success, the Horn family invited others to nominate a loved one to be a Run to Remember honoree. Today, the event has expanded to celebrate the lives of almost two dozen individuals.
It’s not just a race... It’s also for a good cause!
The legacy of the Run to Remember honorees lives on through the Anderson Foundation for Parks and Recreation Playground Fund. During its eight-year existence, Run to Remember has raised more than $50,300. These funds helped to complete the Beech Acres Park All-Children’s Playground, the new Laverty Park Playground, and future proceeds will benefit other Park District playgrounds, including Juilfs Park. There will always be a need to enhance the playgrounds in the Anderson Township Park District’s parks, just as there will always be children in the Anderson Township community in need of fun and safe places to play! |
