The Anderson Township Park District is looking for volunteers who have a genuine desire to help promote parks and recreation. By donating your time and experience, you can really make a difference! Benefits of volunteering at the ATPD include making new friends, flexible assignments, satisfaction of knowing you are helping others, formal recognition for your work, job references and opportunities to use your skills and experiences.

NEW!!!!! TEENS, JOIN THE PARKETEERS!

Teens: Volunteer in your parks and make a difference in your community...become a Parketeer! Make new friends, collect community service hours, and build your resume for school and future jobs by donating your time and experience for fun programs, events, and park projects. This youth volunteer program promotes initiative, responsibility, integrity, leadership, and teamwork. Students 13 years and older should contact Jessica to be a part of the Parketeers and to stay informed of upcoming volunteer opportunities and activities. Parents should encourage their children to make contact with us themselves.

VOLUNTEER EVENTS & OPPORTUNITIES

EVENTS
The ATPD is looking for volunteers to assist with the following event(s):

Easter Egg Hunt
Help us on this fun-filled Saturday in late March or early April - or volunteer to assist in Egg Hunt preparation. Event information can be found by clicking the Find An Activity button on the top of this page.

GREATER ANDERSON DAYS
Have fun as a volunteer at the largest community celebration in Anderson Township during the last weekend of July at Beech Acres Park. Click here for more Greater Anderson Days information

Recreation Programs

Help with a variety of park programs throughout the year such as summer camps and art classes. Do you have a skill or knowledge that you would like to share with others? Contact us to discuss conducting a program or class that will allow you to teach your special skill to others. In addition, the ATPD is always looking for competent, adult officials for the Adult Soccer and Youth Basketball Leagues.

Special Event / Entertainment / Instructor

Be a part of the action by assisting in various capacities before, during, and after an event. Or, use you special talents to entertain or instruct during an ATPD special event. Bands, choral groups, magicians, jugglers, balloon artists, etc. are welcome

Food Service

Serve a variety of tasty treats during hours of peak field usage or special events.

Park Ambassador

Assist visitors by answering questions and directing patrons at events, to various facilities, or during the busy season.

Clerical Support

Lend a hand answering phones, collating papers and preparing mailings in the ATPD offices.

Communications

Help us keep the public informed by updating the Park District's signboards and bulletin boards. Volunteers can be responsible for one or multiple parks, depending on the individual's level of interest.

Landscaping and Craftsperson

Assist with keeping our parks beautiful by planting, weeding, and grooming the many open areas within the Park District. We are also looking for individuals with woodworking and other building skills.
