2006 Honoree: Peter Tekulve
Pete was born on November 13, 1992.  He was the fourth child of Ann and Mark Tekulve, and loving brother of Charlie, Beth, Joe, Ed, and Emily Tekulve.

Pete was a happy child, who enjoyed making fun of life’s events.  He wore a permanent smile and was extremely kind, good natured, and playful.  Pete was a fourth grade student at St. Thomas More when he died suddenly and unexpectedly from Myocarditis on February 11, 2003.  He was involved in Cub Scouts and, shortly before his death, won the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby, as friends and family cheered him on.  To celebrate his victory, he had his picture taken in his favorite ripped sweatshirt.

Pete participated in many activities, always with gusto.  He enjoyed playing baseball for the WT Cougars, CYO Football for IHM, and CYO Basketball for St. Thomas More.  He also enjoyed golf, but his greatest happiness came from riding his bike, skateboarding, playing games and playing with his friends, brothers, sisters, and cousins.

Pete’s greatest gift was his ability to make people laugh and smile.  Pete was a special, fun child – full of life and love, and our wonderful memories of him continue to make us smile.

Pete’s radiant smile, innocent voice and passion for life are indelibly etched in the minds of those who knew and loved him.  Pete brought joy to the lives of all who knew him, and he is dearly missed.  We love you Pete.
