September 11, 2010

The Anderson Township Park District and the families and friends of the 2010 honorees invite you to join us for the 7th Annual Run to Remember 5K Run/Walk. Not a runner or a walker? Come cheer on the participants and enjoy food, beverages, and the FREE CONCERT featuring Ooh La La and the Greasers at 6 pm!

It’s not just a race... It’s also a way to remember family and friends!
Run to Remember 5K Run/Walk began with Nancy Horn, a loving wife and mother who lost her 14-month battle with brain cancer in September of 2003. Following the first event, the Horn family and friends invited others to ‘run to remember’ their significant loved one. Today, the event has expanded to celebrate the lives of almost two dozen individuals.

It’s not just a race... It’s also for a good cause!
The legacy of the Run to Remember honorees lives on through the Anderson Foundation for Parks and Recreation Playground Fund. During its six-year existence, Run to Remember has raised more than $31,000. These funds helped to complete the construction of the Beech Acres Park All-Children’s Playground, and future proceeds will benefit other playgrounds throughout the park district. There will always be a need to enhance the playgrounds in the Anderson Township Park District’s parks, just as there will always be children in the Anderson Township community in need of fun and safe places to play!
