How to register for a class

1). Search the classes listed below. Click on for more information including the current number of enrollees and the number of spaces available for that class.

2). Select the class by clicking on the shopping cart icon on the left.

3). If you would like to continue to add classes, keep clicking the shopping cart button for each class that you want to enroll in.

4). When complete, click the "Enroll Now" button that appears at the bottom-left part of the screen.

5). You will now advance to the next steps for online enrollment. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to log in at this point.

6). If a family member is missing from your household, please call our office at 388-5082 for the member to be added.

    Register in advance. Discover the wonders of nature with your child. Parents and their children participate together in a variety of activities hosted outside at Johnson Hills Park. Park staff members introduce and lead the activities while you help your child participate at his or her own pace. Dress for the weather. Each day focuses on a different outdoo/nature theme. Space is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Register in advance. This two-day course instructs children how to handle real-life situations and everyday hazards that may arise when staying home alone. Topics covered include answering the door and phone, using the computer, when to call 911, what to do in case of a fire or emergency, and planning a course of action for potentially dangerous situations. Kids will also discuss how to fix quick and healthy snacks.

Students will learn the basics while playing both modern and classic songs. Classes are appropriate for beginners and those with some previous experience. Students must bring a binder and a six-string acoustic guitar or an electric guitar with an amplifier. 27-year teaching veteran Jon Armstrong, who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, is the instructor.     230104 - Women's Self Defense

    Register in advance.Workshops are instructed by Kim Weber, 6th degree black belt, Shotokan Karate of Anderson, (513) 233-3656. Please wear comfortable clothing.

    Level 1:
    Learn ways to defend yourself as you go about your daily schedule of work, school and errands through basic prevention and physical skills learned in this class.

    Level 2:
    This self-defense workshop will expand on the skills taught in the Level 1 workshop, with a focus on the physical skills.

    Register in advance. This unique game has some similarities to curling and bocce, is more social than golf and less strenuous than tennis. Also, learn how rehydrating your body is essential for vibrant health and pain-free movement. This series is taught by Cheri Dean, a certified MELT Hand and Foot instructor. Please wear comfortable clothing. A ball kit is included with registration.

Photographer Steve Reuter will teach an introduction to outdoor photography including basics such as photo composition, natural lighting and how to take a landscape shot vs. a shot of an object.     250900 - Pre-School Sports

    Register in advance. These are instructional programs, not a league. All participants will receive a T-shirt. Shin guards are recommended, but not required. Space is limited.

    Mini Kicks:
    Parents and their little athletes share in a variety of fun games and activities as they are introduced to the sport of soccer. You help your child participate at his or her pace while instructors lead the activities.

    Kickers:
    Boys and girls will be introduced to the basic FUNdamentals of soccer during this five-week program. Make new friends and learn to pass, dribble and shoot the soccer ball. Parents must stay on-site during the program.

    320301 - Summer Mini Camp

    These half day camps take place outside at Johnson Hills Park and Veterans Park. Campers enjoy arts & crafts, activities & games, snack & special theme days. Camps at Johnson Hills Park will focus on nature themes. All campers must be potty trained and meet the age requirement by the start of each camp.

    Mini Camps are held outside and children should dress appropriately for outdoor play. If weather becomes an issue, staff may utilize the rain site at the Anderson Parks RecPlex. Detailed camp information distributed upon registration.

    320401 - Travel Camp

    Travel camp is for campers who like adventure! Explorers go on a different field trip each day, and the week ends with an overnight "camp out" on Thursday night! Pick up times vary daily according to field trip. Detailed trip information will be distributed after registration. Extended camp is available as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 6:00 p.m. Campers must be 10 years of age by January 1, 2018.
