How to register for a class

1). Search the classes listed below. Click on for more information including the current number of enrollees and the number of spaces available for that class.

2). Select the class by clicking on the shopping cart icon on the left.

3). If you would like to continue to add classes, keep clicking the shopping cart button for each class that you want to enroll in.

4). When complete, click the "Enroll Now" button that appears at the bottom-left part of the screen.

5). You will now advance to the next steps for online enrollment. If you are not already logged in, you will be prompted to log in at this point.

6). If a family member is missing from your household, please call our office at 388-5082 for the member to be added.

    210206 - Home Alone

    Register in advance. This two-day course instructs children how to handle real-life situations and everyday hazards that may arise when staying home alone. Topics covered include answering the door and phone, using the computer, when to call 911, what to do in case of a fire or emergency, and planning a course of action for potentially dangerous situations. Kids will also discuss how to fix quick and healthy snacks.

    210208 - Youth Self Defense Wksp

    Register in advance. Kim Weber, Shotokan Karate of Anderson, teaches a variety of age-appropriate self-defense workshops. Topics include personal safety, bullies and physical self-defense techniques. Please wear comfortable clothing. For questions regarding curriculum, contact Kim at 233-3656.

    Kids Super Self Defense Workshop:
    Children will be encouraged to recognize their "super powers" to get away from unsafe situations such as strangers and bullies. In addition, kids will learn other personal safety skills including awareness and self-defense techniques. Parents are invited to return early and be a part of the class.

    Teen Self Defense Workshop:
    This class will teach teens two aspects of personal safety: awareness and protection. Awareness will increase an individual's safety and minimize the risk associated with being a targeted victim. Protection techniques, including physical self-defense, also will be explained and practiced.

    Register in advance. Have fun outside at Juilfs Park! Enjoy a craft, games and activities plus socialization time in the sun (or under the shelter) near the playground. Park staff will lead activities and a craft while you help your child participate at his or her own pace. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch and explore the playground after the program.

    310201 - Chemistry Camp

    Register in advance. Come measure, mix and swirl into the world of chemistry as we explore reactions that make explosions, sidewalk chalk, ice-cream, crystals, and much more. Each day is packed with experiments and activities full of wonder and fun.     310204 - Young Rembrandts-Art Camps

    Register in advance. No experience necessary! Please wear an old shirt or smock to class for pastel camps. All supplies included.

    JUNIOR ZOO CAMP:
    Kids love to draw animals! Join this camp as campers learn to draw a variety of animals found at the Cincinnati Zoo. Campers will draw giraffes, lions, tigers, birds and more. The final day will result in one large scene of the zoo, which will include several habitats and will incorporate the many animals friends the campers learned to draw.

    OCEAN LIFE PASTEL CAMP:
    Fun-filled days await the campers as they explore ocean life and learn to draw and color with pastels. Campers will create a detailed pastel composition focusing on a different ocean-themed subject each day. Ocean life that will be discovered on this journey include an eye-catching starfish, a pair of vibrant clown fish, a sea turtle with bold patterns, a blue crab and a wondrous scene of jellyfish!

    310207 - Better Babysitters

    Register in advance. Would your child know what to do if the child they were babysitting were choking? Does your child babysit younger siblings? Your child will learn the skills needed to be a Better Babysitter! Students will learn first aid, infant and child CPR (information only and does not include certification), safety and creative age-appropriate activities. This class includes guest speakers from the local police and fire departments. All students will receive their own first aid kit to take home. Class is appropriate for boys and girls, and is interactive and fun with role play and hands-on instruction.

    310211 - Youth Guitar Classes

    Register in advance. Group guitar lessons are a great way to explore the world of music and gain a fundamental knowledge of and love for the guitar. Students will learn the basics while playing some modern and classic songs. The intermediate class includes more advanced techniques and is intended for students with some previous guitar experience. Students must bring a binder and a six-string acoustic guitar or an electric guitar with an amplifier. Classes are taught by 26-year teaching veteran Jon Armstrong, Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. Guitars may be purchased from the instructor.     310213 - Horseback Riding Camp

    Register in advance. Would you like to learn an exciting, unique and rewarding new sport that gets you outside? This five-day horse and pony camp will teach young equine enthusiasts about proper horse care, riding skills and safety with an emphasis on fun! Each day consists of one riding lesson and activities with water fun afterwards to cool off. Note: All riders must wear long pants and boots with a 1" heel or tennis shoes. Please bring a helmet, and if you do not have one, one will be provided. Bring a packed lunch. Camps are run by Maria Kniepp, USHJA Certified Trainer. Space is limited.

    320301 - Summer Mini Camp

    These half day camps take place outside at Veterans Park and Johnson Hills Park. Campers enjoy arts & crafts, activities & games, snack & special theme days. Camps at Johnson Hills Park will focus on nature themes. All campers must be potty trained and meet the age requirement by the start of each camp.

    Mini Camps are held outside and children should dress appropriately for outdoor play. If weather becomes an issue, staff may utilize the rain site at the Beech Acres Park RecPlex. Detailed camp information distributed upon registration.

    320401 - Travel Camp

    Travel camp is for campers who like adventure! Explorers go on a different field trip each day, and the week ends with an overnight "camp out" on Thursday night! Pick up times vary daily according to field trip. Detailed trip information will be distributed after registration. Extended camp is available as early as 7:00 a.m. and as late as 6:00 p.m. Campers must be 10 years of age by January 1, 2017.

    M: Gameworks, 9:30 a.m-4:30 p.m.
    T: The Beach Water Park, 9:30 a.m-5:30 p.m.
    W: Scene 75, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
    TH: Kings Island, 9:30 a.m. and camp-out
